Back Next Earth's Melodrama

She who was always in a position of power
was suddenly sentenced to death
Not since she was a child
had she reached out
to another for his
or her
mercy
Her eyes pleading
like eyes had pleaded
before hers'
And she saw their eyes
as eyes belonging
to insects
Oh but she was no insect
she was a frightened
little girl
crying for help
"Oh please don't kill me,
please let me go..."
She smiled her most meaningful smile
Oh can't you see I am such a good and harmless creature
and you are such a sweet and kind man
said this smile
It didn't work
Indeed she was inside
an inescapable nightmare
lowering herself
into a deep depression
she began to mutter-
her mind craving
instant insanity

When the bullets hit her
she farted
and crapped in her pants
the pain in her body
lifted her depression
and the darkness
that followed
ended her
earth's melodrama

Her husband's reaction
was different
He did not ask for mercy
He asserted his power
yet he had no power
to now assert
he tried to bribe his way out
Then to reason his way out
When he saw it was no
use
he gave up
and said:
"Ok let's get it over with"
He had only one request:
he be shot together with his wife.
(The request was granted)
He concentrated on holding his wife's hand
When the bullets tore into him
he thought it was his wife's
body that they were plundering
He remembered nothing
of his own death
