Of course I knew what Freedom is I remember my father don't I? I remember the jail of my childhood don’t I? I remember the school bells the homework assignment the long lines don’t I? I had no choice until I grew up and got out opened my own bar and make my own money I chose my cars my women my days to be in the country The gates of freedom were wide open until I chose to get married and close them myself Now my freedom is different it is in my head knowing my children can choose the choice they so want my rooms are small but my thoughts are wide My children if they want to are free to climb as high as they dare

Of course I knew
what Freedom is
I remember my father
don't I?
I remember the jail
of my childhood
don’t I?
I remember the school bells
the homework assignment
the long lines
don’t I?
I had no choice
until I grew up
and got out
opened my own bar
and make my own money
I chose my cars
my women
my days to be in the country
The gates of freedom were wide open
until I chose to get married
and close them myself
Now my freedom is different
it is in my head
knowing my children
can choose the choice
they so want
my rooms are small
but my thoughts are wide
My children if they want to
are free to climb as high
as they dare
