She found a sunbeam and laid herself upon it so it could carry her into meadows and parks and all the light-hearted places people can go But more than that ever more than that it took her into the dark-places and lit them up like the merry garden in her backyard where in her spare time she dug into the dark-soil while she watched her sunbeam dance with other sunbeams even when she managed her monthly books her sunbeam sat on the printed page and played with it lightly

She found a sunbeam
and laid herself upon it
so it could carry her into
meadows and parks
and all the light-hearted places
people can go
But more than that
ever more than that
it took her into the dark-places
and lit them up
like the merry garden in her backyard
where in her spare time
she dug into the dark-soil
while she watched her sunbeam
dance with other sunbeams
even when she managed her monthly books
her sunbeam sat on the printed page
and played with it lightly
