Back Next The Poorman's Hotel

I sat down with her
and said
we are not lonely enough
to be friends
or rather I am lonely enough
but you are not
she understood my words
and left e sitting
in the poorman's hotel
in the poor part of the city
and hurried
to the Kings Hotel
where she ordered
a glass of Sherry
and drowned
my thought in alcohol
