By chance I came to the Avenue
of Freedom
and saw it with my own eyes
what could be done with enthusiasm
but mine was already spent
clouded over with skepticism
and cynicism
and yet here before me
were the real rabbits
that took the magicians
out of the hat
I wanted to rush over to them
and say
all my life
I was wanting to be in the place
that you are now
that wouldn't have been difficult to say
but to have added
may I join you?
would have got my mouth watering
and had they said no
I would have had to call
their Avenue of Freedom
by another name
to bear the burden
of such rejection.
