I came so that nature would give Give me the peace and quiet that the city took I ordered nature to flood quiet and solitude into my soul wash me all over an dry me with warm powder instead nature presented me with mosquitoes and black flies and had a smell that was not completely clean and fresh and its grass was yellowed dry and its music was high pitched and crickety and its trees were too darkly green and its air was thick and itchy Nature I said you cheated me and so I got into my car and drove back to the smoky city.

I came
so that nature would give
Give me the peace and quiet
that the city took
I ordered nature to flood quiet
and solitude
into my soul
wash me all over
an dry me with warm powder
instead nature presented me
with mosquitoes
and black flies
and had a smell that was
not completely clean and fresh
and its grass was yellowed dry
and its music was high pitched
and crickety
and its trees were too darkly
green
and its air was thick and itchy
Nature I said
you cheated me
and so I got into my car
and drove back to the smoky
city.
