Back Next Low Point

It all began at once
My mother appeared
And my daughter sprained her neck
And my sons' wife began to bleed
And my son-in-law to-be started to duel with me
And my step father related to me another hero-myth saga
And my mistress disappeared
And my little nymph came to make gyrating motions
And so I stopped writing my poems
And held myself together with fantasies about going back to America
Until I went to an American movie and again remembered America
Only to hear that the doctors are on strike
And that war is a possibility
And it was here
At this low point
That I had to go to the bank
To ask for a 1000 dollar loan
In order
To give my daughter
Away At her wedding
And in between these
Events I took my dreams
To my therapist
Only to discover
That my dreams
Accused me
For my lack of heart.
And whenever
I stopped to look
Around me
I remembered
I missed the target
Regarding my life's work
And that my friends
Were managing
To move upward
And forward
And when I thought of God
I thought more of Old age
Death
And nothingness
And it was here
At this point
When I asked my wife for sex - that
She said
She was having
Her period.
